Keep our spine strong.

During the British rule in India, a British officer slapped an Indian youth on the face. At the same time, the youth slapped the British officer with all his strength so hard that the officer fell to the ground.

The officer, shocked by this insult, wondered how a simple Indian youth could slap an army officer of an empire on which the sun never sets.
He quickly went to his post and demanded that the Indian be severely punished.
But the high-ranking commander calmed him down and told him not to punish the Indian man but to reward him. And as a reward, give him ten thousand rupees.
The officer shouted in hatred and said, "This is not just an insult to me, but to you. Rather, it is an insult to the British Queen as well. And you are saying to reward him more than punish him."
The commander now said, "This is a military order and you will carry out this order without delay."
The junior officer followed his commander's order and went to the Indian with ten thousand rupees and said, "Please forgive me." And accept these ten thousand rupees as a gift.
The Indian youth accepted the gift and forgot that he had been slapped by a colonial army officer on his own soil.
At that time, ten thousand rupees was a huge amount of money. He used this money properly and improved his quality of life within a few years, and became quite wealthy. Earlier, he was an ordinary young man. Now he is quite established in society.
After many years, the English commander called his junior officer and said- Do you remember that Indian who slapped you?

The officer said: How can I forget that insult?
The commander said: Now is the time. You find him and slap him hard in front of the public.
The officer said: How is that possible. The one who retaliated when he was poor. And now he is quite wealthy. He will kill me.
The commander said: Do what I say. This is also an order for you.
The junior officer has to obey the order. He went to the Indian and slapped him hard.
But this time the opposite happened.
The young Indian did not show any reaction this time. He did not even dare to look at the officer.
The officer turned around in shock and went to his commander.
The commander said: I see a look of surprise on your face. Why are you so surprised?
The officer said, 'When he was poor.' He hit back. But now that he has money, he cannot even look up. How is this possible?
The commander said slowly, 'At first, he had nothing but his honor.' He considered that the most valuable thing, and he fought to protect it, even risking his life. And now he did not try to protect it anymore. Because money has become more important to him than his honor. The day he accepted ten thousand rupees as a gift, he sold his dignity, his self-respect to the rupee.
And when a person's self-respect is sold to wealth, the spine of any person becomes bent.
Let's maintain self-respect. Let's not sell ourselves for position, gifts, or anything else, but keep our spine strong.
