In a village, there lived two friends—one was Time (Samya Roy), the other Wealth (Sampad Das). Wealth was very rich. He had a lot of money, land, and diamonds. He thought that there was nothing greater in the world than money. He was always arrogant and did not care about time. On the other hand, Time was very ordinary. He did not have much wealth, but he valued time very much. He thought that the most valuable thing in life was this time. One day, Wealth mocked Time and said, "Hey Time, do you think you have any value? Look, how many things I can buy with my money—luxury, comfort, and power. What do you have? You float away, and no one can hold you back." Time replied calmly, "Friend Wealth, you are right, I float away, and I cannot be held back. And this is my greatest strength. What you spend once, you may earn again. But once I go, I never come back." Wealth laughed and said, "Oh, what a thing! If I waste an hour today, tomorrow I will have to do the same work in double the time, wasting my money. Let's see how money buys time!" Time said, "Okay, time will answer that." The wheel of time started turning. Wealth was always busy with his money. He lived a luxurious life and did not hesitate to waste time. Hanging out with friends, making unnecessary purchases - these became his routine. He thought that he had a lot of money, so he could do the work later. But time, he used every moment of his life. He did small tasks on time, learned new things, and took time for his health and knowledge. After a few years, a difficult time came in Wealth's life. He suffered huge losses in business, and in an instant, almost all his wealth was gone. When he was depressed and wanted to start his business again, he found that he did not have time. His body was broken, he had passed the age of learning new things, and his enthusiasm had also decreased. He realized that when he had money, he had wasted the most valuable time in his life. On the other hand, Time, through his constant efforts, had become a wise and successful man. Although he did not have much money, his knowledge, good health, and good habits had earned him respect in society. He realized that the time he had used instead of wasting had now become his real wealth. One day, Wealth came to Time in despair. He said, "Friend, you are right. Today I have no money, but what is worse, I do not have the time to start all over again. I have lost my most valuable asset." Time said, "Wealth, money can be earned again, but time can never be brought back. Time is the seed of life from which your future is born. Once that seed is lost, you will be left empty-handed."
Lesson of the story:
The main lesson of this story is:
* Time is the most valuable resource in life. Because once it is gone, it never comes back.
* Money lost can be earned again, but time wasted is an irreparable loss. Every moment of life should be valued and used for the right purpose.
